Hey Hattie,
"Guerilla" gardening has such a positive effect on drab, derelect spaces.....Why does it have to be a "clandestine" activity? What reasoning, possibly, could the authorities have for not making this a "legal" activity........it's done free (no cost to the council), it turns 'eye sore' areas into eye appealing areas, ect. ect.
I don't understand the logic behind it not being accepted by the authorities.

I don't know the answer to your questions -- I did try to find out but with no real success. I just think it is local bureaucrats can't cope & are too frightened of anything positive...........!!

On it there is a local mayor who believes in it -- maybe you could email him........?? You will have to scroll down a long way to find him.

Morning (over here) Hattie,

I'd sure be mad as "an old, wet setting hen" if I'd had a plot at Manor Gardens.....such a shame. Destruction of a way of life and enjoyment for so many for so long.....all for a few days of competion that, I personally, think is boring and a waste of "air time".

The Manor Garden Allotments removal and relocation makes me think of the Cherokee "Trail of Tears"....same, same.

Maybe that would have been a good publicity slogan for their fight....."The Manor Garden Allotments Trail of Tears".....gotta admit, it fit the situation.
