Update: They have traced a gasoline purchase this morning, so at least he's alive. I hope this will help locate him!

So glad he made it home safely. I wonder if he just lost his way and it took a while to figure out how to get home? My dad did that once, and was gone for about 6 hours. We never did figure out where he went.

Don't know yet but he was missing for nearly 24 hours, overnight, which isn't like him at all. That's a long time to be lost. Wonder how his immediate family will deal with this and his access to the car.

So glad he came back, Flower!! This happens so many times and sometimes it doesn't end well, particularly in the winter. My Dad did this once too and that was the final straw...was gone 12 hrs, had driven clear across the state looking for Mom, whom he had waved good-bye to as he drove off into the night. And the police we reported it to said they hadn't even heard of this Silver Alert and acted like they could care less, wouldn't help us at all.

I hope you can get him the help he needs at this time in his life.
