Don't let us get started on husbands. I love mine dearly (and if I had changed him we would be a lot poorer today) but he hunts and I shop. Unfortunately -- or fortunately -- we seem to agree far too often on plants than any other type of purchases.

If as digitS said, "if a little is good, a lot is better!"
And my husband espouses the theory that "one of everything is a good start."
This makes my addiction a dual effort that is nearly impossible to control. If there is any form of control in plantings it is that I can no longer do everything that established the gardens.

So far, this year has been better health-wise, but I've refrained from a lot of purchases simply because I need to get what I have back under control.

@lavender, it's still early days! You have lots of time left for impulses!

Pretty shrub??......:pop

Oh I know, there will be a few more, but it didn't help that my DIL picked up the tab at the High School FFA plant sale last Friday and then said 'Happy Mother's Day - thankyou, you are impossible to buy for' :D

I looked up the shrub - Neon Flash Spirea - I almost ALWAYS read reviews, check out growth habit, etc... but nope, ... hey, that's a pretty bush, click, check-out... :hu ... I must have been hungry.

Oh wow, it has burgundy foliage in the fall! I'm going to see if my favorite nursery is getting them in....maybe I can talk a client into needing some so I can be off the hook and spare my wallet. I like those!

My weakness is clearance sales, just can't walk by 50% off.

That's EXACTLY my issue! I just have to take a peek. I'm famous for saying "it will grow" or "I can save that".

http://www.theeasygarden.com/threads/jared77s-gardening-journal.15157/page-4 for pics of my impulse purchase.

I've had to promise my wife not to make impulse hybrid tea rose purchases. That's a VERY tough one for me. A good price or roses both have & will continue to give me troubles.

I got away with this one because it was already part of the design it was just a matter of finding one we wanted at a price we could afford.

Don't even get me started on impulse seed purchases :hide

One of my customers has a greenhouse and she was kind enough to give me a 50 dollar gift certificate....I can hardly wait to get there, and see what kind of trouble I can get into! Maybe this weekend.

My daycare families quickly realized that was my favorite gift ;) , however my kids refuse to continue to buy me dirt for Christmas. :hu

Have fun on your shopping spree!

Thanks, good to know about the pretty fall foliage!

The clematis I ordered were 'Ville de Lyon' and 'Patricia Ann Fretwell'.
Last fall when my neighbors moved, they pulled an old arbor out of their woods, covered with moss and rotting, and asked if I wanted it. Oh yeck yeah!... dad replaced a couple rotting pieces and I pressure washed, sanded and painted and ta-da ... it needs some clematis, don't you think ...
