NO.RAIN.EVER!!
It has been weeks since we saw it--I think rainfall is now a myth.

it was dry and hot for several weeks but we did get some rains eventually. i'm mostly done watering for the season as i want the beans to dry down and i don't want the flavor of the tomatoes to be watered down either. peppers seem to do ok no matter what. we do have some chances of rain coming up but not sure what we'll get until we get them. what i do water are any transplants and perhaps the peppers. all up in the air... :)

It was 95°f (35°C) yesterday and supposed to be a little hotter through the week. I sure hope it cools by next week.

It all may mean that our hottest weather will be now, the end of August and first of September. That is a full month later than normal and, it hasn't been a cool Summer –– above normal, above normal, above normal ! Interesting that our coldest days of the Winter were nearly a full 6 weeks late and in February 2025.

The nearest wunderground volunteer had 66°f (19°C) when I rolled out of bed and I still have windows open and fans on. It helps but closing everything up will be necessary very soon.

We had a nice drive in the mountains yesterday afternoon. So much cooler climbing about 1000 feet elevation. By that I mean that the car was climbing. Discovered that it was pavement all that way although through national forest; making me wonder if continuing up-&-down about 20 more miles and to a 4,000 foot elevation might also be paved 😎. It's been years since I bounced along that road and returned down to the valley location where I lived in the '70's.
