Your Weather, 2025

the ice-storm did get here but doesn't look to be as bad as it could have been, we also had a thunderstorm go through a bit ago so perhaps that's the end of this and now it will all be falling off the trees, shrubs and fences...

rains last night today and tomorrow and also plenty of winds and some snow. warm enough for now to rain and then changing to snow tonight and tomorrow. the high winds forecast along with snow will probably mean Mom will be off tomorrow.

i did my little bit of shopping yesterday so i would have the ingredients i needed for making chili today. Mom requested i make some sloppy joes for her since i offered to make her wimpy chili but she would rather the sloppy joes instead. her wish is my command.

It's 15⁰f (-9C).

The Weather Service tells us that our December average has been 10⁰f warmer than normal. This is personally a little disturbing. Of course, outdoor activities have been easier with this move 500 - 1000 miles south without having gone anywhere!

I'm trying to understand living where Summers are incredibly dry and Winters are warmer and almost free of snow but with frequent rain and windstorms. Look, I can't "get back to normal" by moving further north because I will have less Winter sunlight! There's only so much change that olde people can handle :old.

You can blame El Niño for this warmer winter weather . The oceans are warmer as El Niño is the culprit . According to the weather channel. El Niño is a natural weather pattern with warm pacific waters occurring regularly every 2-7 years . Usually develops in spring peaking in winter Nov - Feb lasting 9-12 months , bringing wetter/warmer patterns the southern US coasts but drier warmer winters in the northern US.

it is pretty windy out there this morning and as usual i'm awake early for trash day but it being windy enough and nasty enough means i'm not going to be hauling it out there for it to get blow around as it is also recycle day.

wonder if i can get back to sleep...
