Downright hot and humid and THEN, cool here.
DH insists on a fan blowing cold air in at night. 🥶
I am sleeping under my electric blanket, just to survive!!
Still, DD's are coming for dinner and I will need their help to take off the living room storm window for the season.
Looks like about another 3 weeks of Spring before the balmy summer takes over.

May changes moods just like a baby: Someone should have named it "Maybe."

We had 2 local tornadoes pretty close to us this week.
I WISH the ... looking for the "right words", "Silly people" who have taken over our town's board,
would REALIZE that one tornado would wipe out the entire town. There is literally NOTHING to stop one coming due west through farmer's fields that are flat as pancake.
Previous to me mayor and I both wanted to get a siren, but it never happened, so we have to rely on our phone and tv to give us Tornado Warnings. Youngest DD is irritated that in the town where she Works, their sirens go off for high winds and for Watches.
You need to know:
1) Tornado Watch--conditions are favorable for a tornado and high humidity give indicators that it Could happen and often does
2) Tornado WARNING--a tornado has been spotted in your vicinity. Take cover IMMEDIATELY!!
Even if one strikes near you, you can still walk away ALIVE.
The people that built our house left the SW corner of the basement and the West side of the 2nd floor devoid of windows. THAT's where we can go in case of a tornado.
DD's 1920's house has no west or south windows in their full basement, and they have taken the 2 cats to the basement twice this Spring bc of a Warning.

Record highest temperature tied yesterday at 94° (34⁰C).

Today’s prediction is for breaking the record by going over 90. Previous highs were set in 1934.

The house was 75⁰ when I stirred outta bed at 3:30. I expect to have it down to room temperature (21⁰C) soon, just using fans and some open windows. By 9, I imagine that it will be above that temperature outdoors and I will close windows and close off several rooms. No doubt, AC will be on before noon.

Parts of Texas have been in severe drought, as in lakes and reservoirs have dwindled down to puddles. The situation is dire. Meanwhile, East Texas has been pounded with rains. Last Wednesday i got 4 1/2 inches of rain in 3 hours. My road was under water. Next morning, it was drained off, but the evidence showed that at least 14 places in a 2 mile stretch was flooded. Central Texas has received much needed rain, but the ground is so dry that it is soaking up the rain. There is run off into the creeks and rivers an that is helping the lakes that provide much of the water for various cities.

Meanwhile, here at Bent Road Ranch, it is raining. Storm is to hit around noon.
