Catastrophic flooding in western Washington State. Western Montana also appears to have some flooding, likely from snow melt.

Nothing like those news stories here with some local, water rescue teams being sent to the westside of the Cascades. In this area, there were several thousand customers without power yesterday afternoon. It may be worse now since our 45-50 mph wind gusts were mostly after 10PM.

The local wind advisory is ending this morning so, maybe, things are calming down.

i sure hope so!

as for flooding and sewage spills, it's pretty common in older cities that they first put in combined sewer systems for the stormwater drains and the sewage itself. now when they get funding and the chance a lot of cities are reworking their systems to break them apart which means that the storm water can be captured and lightly treated or sent directly into the waterways and the sewage can be also treated but a lot more and in some places they are treating it enough now that the water can be returned to potable use.
