Your Weather, 2026

Lots here still shut down from the snow storm. First time for me. I've seen power shortages for a few hours, but nothing like this. School buses still can't run because there's no sidewalks. The dump trucks are out loading up with snow to lessen the size of the banks, but its a slow process. All the pedestrians are having to walk in traffic to go anywhere. I tried to bring some garbage to the dump as those services aren't up yet, and it was still closed. What a winter. Banks are so high we're all driving in a maze of tunnels, nobody can see what's oncoming until you're right out in the lane.

OMG snow level in your area is really high. Stay warm be careful when going out. Sounds dangerous out on the roads. Sending blessings your way.

OUR weather is ping ponging. Yesterday it was 86 degrees F here, today it started out below freezing, will be 43 degrees by 3PM, then dipping down to 23 degrees, THEN, popping back up to the 50's, then 60's all of next week, and no lows that will put an ice layer on my 100 gallon horse water tank, which I topped off yesterday.
2 ponies had drunk down 8 inches of water bc of the recent heat.
Today will be "basement day." I have to clean up from Tegan and other things.
I might take some pictures of before and after, just to make me feel good.
We pick up the new 1/2 cow on April 11th, same day as "dumpster days" in DD's town, and we have already packed up the stuff to go there. As I understand it, we can dump at 7 AM, then DD--other DD will be in Iowa--and I will drive an hour to her "work town" where the locker is and pick up the meat, then pack it in our freezers.
We will need to pre order the next half to be picked up in October.
We still have probably 45 days worth of beef, more of less. This new place is VERY organized and we could buy 1/4 cow if we wanted to--TOO many decisions to make in one day.

I am throwing away all broken things, as I find them, checking with DD's regarding any family items that they might want to keep and repair. There is nobody here to argue keeping them.
DD's gave me 2 nice table lamps. After they redid all of the electrics in the house with ceiling LED's, they don't need them any more. I only have the same setup in the kitchen.
Middle DD is visiting sometime after Easter and there will be "Basement Cleaning Day." So I need to have My stuff gone before then, only IF I want a really clean basement.
Back to gardening--I put the 2 blueberry plants and one pot of 2 strawberries in a muck bucket on Tuesday. What with the severe weather changes, I moved the mucket bucket into the big leaky 100 gallon BLACK water trough next to the faucet to protect them. I also put a cover and a couple of bricks on top, to remove on Sunday or Monday.
The black water trough should heat up some with the sun.
I KNOW that they are perennials, BUT, not reason to not baby them a little...
Tegan went out, did nothing, and is spending time in her crate thinking and taking a nap.
I am giving her a piece of dehydrated sweet potato when she potties outside, as a "carrot."
