since we are having corned beef tonight decided to pull the last of the blue and red potatoes,found a couple russets poking through the soil so pulled them as well
once i got my head out of the bed she had picked some carrots...
she is planning on putting the potatoes that we do not eat into the dehydrator ...yes will cut off the green parts..
will keep a couple blues for hash browns this weekend...

i tell ya that was the nastest corn beef to come out of the crock pot, it was all fat but the potatoes ,carrots and cabbage was delicious....
took today off have had insomnia the last 2 nights about 4 hours total and had a little stomch bug to boot, was in no shape to drive to work. no way was i going to try a nap that would really screw me up tonight.
decided to put what little energy i had to use....
pulled the watermelons up, since i found 4 split.. so did the gallager and tossed them.

to my surprize found 14 <3rds>

will spend the next couple afternoons weeding and primping that area for a mass planting of peas this weekend...

did plant seeds in a couple of the raised beds. so far have red/golden beets, lettuce red/green, spinach,bok chio, green onions, radishes

will work on the main garden to plant the winter squash and cucumbers this weekend

Jalapenos are going nuts. I have 4 of these guys producing

And the perpetual spinach has been a blessing

But my scotch bonnet has been having a rough time. Squirrel and hail devastated this guy early on, and he's been limping along.

Pumpkins have been a good experiment, but I gotta figure out a better system next year. I'm planning on creating more raised beds via a tiered garden system in the back, but that'll be some $$$

Nice looking peppers and spinach that scotch bonnet is a trooper.... Like to see your new raised beds when you get them done.....

today was almost a normal day for me,was able to get 7 hours of sleep last night.heck i slept like a baby while away do i need to get one of those hotel mattress sets??
the dw went out and picked tomatoes this morning and made another batch of salsa, the official count now is 15 melons i missed the one that was in the hammock.

while watering the beds and what not picked another bucket of tomatoes and a couple bell peppers. for a few people down at work.

boy all the rain sure has messed up the tomatoes..spent more time slinging them than putting them in the bucket..... oh thats right thats why they call it gardening. and we are not in control of the weather.. going to pull a few tomato plants this weekend, they are just not putting out or rotting on the vines.
thinking that being mid august that the main garden is slowly showing signs of discontent on producing beautiful produce...all good thing must come to an end sooner or later.

8/15/15 update....
well august is here and the tomatoes are really showing signs that they are done.... dw came out while i was pulling the lemon cherry and sweet seedless<both were doomed with blight and tomato leaf spot> she sternly informed me that this would be the last picking she does...

figure they will be another good 20 gallons of tomatoes for the employees.. but those plants are showing signs of blight ,sun scald, splitting and bloom rot..

did get out there and cultivate the old watermelon patch for the peas will get out there tomorrow and plant them

as well did the cucumber and winter squash areas as well the lone bed... pardon the beer can

did some over due weed eating, dw come out with a couple beers, the only thing i heard was the whistle informing that my shift was done for the day....
there is always tomorrow........
