Truck Update

Can't his shop doesn't have hours. He does this part time. What I can not believe is he going camping with my family July 7. I would be to embarrassed to show me face.

Do what you want. I say, suck it up, go have an honest conversation with him. Time of pulling punches passed 8 months ago.... Don't have to be rude but time to get some answers. Everyone involved is now distancing themselves from the conflict. Get it DONE!

This whole thing stinks. You are a nice guy that is getting shafted. If your sister is such good friends with him why doesn't SHE get on his ass over getting your truck done? As I wrote the previous sentence, I knew that would never happen. If he is going camping with your family, can you show up at the campsite? And in a very nice manner, tell him that if he hasn't done anything to your truck, it's ok. You'll just arrange to have it picked up and you'll take it somewhere else. If he hems and haws around, screw him--tell him that you are going to sic a lawyer on him. And with a sweet smile, tell him that you have plenty of money to throw at a lawyer and you are quite happy to make it cost him a LOT of money. Your next sentence needs to be that you are going to pick up your truck. Period. Or get ready to do legal battle and spend more money than it is worth to him. Let him know that you have a client that will handle this for you as a favor and you don't mind one bit dragging him into court and making him spend lots of money on lawyer fees. Be nice, be firm and don't take any crap off this yo-yo.

Would not threaten him. He holds ALL the cards. Can charge $$$$$ for supposed work. Plus charge storage fees.. Plus pick up/ delivery cost. Be firm but nothing hostile till you have truck and BILL. You are hooked.....

Call and tell him you are coming immediately with someone to get the truck, document the state it is in and get ready to sue. You'll not get any further with this guy. If he and your sister are that good of friends, it won't be the end of their camping trip anyway, although you could wait until after if you're feeling magnanimous.

Many people are harder to embarrass than we are. Just consider the welfare cheaters who abuse the system others need and appreciate. I suspect your truck is funding more than just the vacation with your sister. I wish you the best with getting your truck for a decent charge, but I fear otherwise.

I emailed him next Sunday I will be up to see truck. What scares me is he was suppose to send me photos last week and never did. I payed over $3,000 for truck plus gave him $2,500 deposit when he pick up. I believe over $5,000 is a felony. I do have a lawyer client who will handle it for free, just hoping it does not come down to that. Will be 1 year July 4th weekend.

That year sure went by fast! Not for you while waiting for your truck of course, but still - a year already! No wonder I'm feeling old.
