Use Ginger and/or Turmeric? Grow it?

It's a wonderful world, Barb in PA!

I know nothing of cardamom ... something about candies and desserts ...

Galangal I have used in simple noodle dishes. I associate it with shiitake mushrooms! It certainly doesn't come through as a very pronounced flavor when matched with shiitake ... and, a grind of black pepper .

I love it. They use it in Indian chicken dishes to Chai. I am so excited and shocked about having these wonderful plants growing under my nose all these years...Buying them rather than using what I have...LOL

I never see Cardamom for sale in the grocery store or even in the Indian grocery stores.

I went out to take my Cardamom down off the shelf and couldn't pick it up. my hubby had to help me.

It's a beautiful plant and smells so good. slipped the pot off and this is it.

It will take me all day to unravel this mess but I did get a few things to get pics and to try. if someone would like some of this to grow you are more then welcome to it. just let me know..there will be no fee for it.

I have sinus headaches

The ginger tea I've had has absolutely taken my breath away ..! That wasn't quite the remedy I was looking for. However, I'm up to putting a slice of fresh ginger in my mouth and holding it there.

A second slice can be rubbed across the brow. Oh, blessed relief ... if I do this while waiting for the Tylenol to kick in, I'm comfortable and can then go about my business.

Larisa, I'm using babushki formula, the honey and flower. very good, I had thought of using rolled oats, but flower hadn't crossed my mind.

The foliage does look very similar. My ginger is such a sad specimen, I'm surprised you all were able to ID it at all.

I very much like the ginger that ,when it is sliced into vinegar, turns pink.​
