Is that red or brown? Right now, I'd take any ripe color to have fresh tomato.

We cut that tomato this evening and took it to a neighbor's for supper. We slaughtered a hog, neighbor came over to help. I simmered pinto beans and ham bone all day, DH stirred them every time he went to the house. So when we were done, supper was ready. We took showers, rested a bit and took pot of beans, tomato and sliced onions to neighbors, she made cornbread and we feasted!

Dang, that sounds like a 5 star meal. With some fresh honey. Life doesn't get any better---maybe fresh butter from someone's cow?

We are supposed to be getting rain for the next few days, so I went out to my neglected garden to pick whatever was ready. My zucchini vines are toast, but I picked a wash pan full of zucchini masquerading as fire logs. I picked a wash pan full of Honeyboat Delicata squash. We've ate one, so far. They are supposed to keep a couple of months. We'll sell the biggest, nicest ones to our egg customers and keep the rest for ourselves.

I picked cucumbers and got enough for another batch of pickles. I picked tomatoes. They are just starting to ripen. Lordy, if all those green tomatoes ripen, I'll be buying more jars! LOL

The big ones are Cherokee Purple, the fluted ones are Rosso Sicilian, the medium sized are Sleeping Lady and there's a few little Tommy Toes tossed in.
