Peppers

I have huge pepper plants with plenty of blooms. I should have some peppers by now. Another local complained about the same thing. I am sure it must be weather related. Any ideas?

Cat, has your summer been cooler than normal? Or cooler nights? That might make a difference.
I have quite a few peppers but they are getting BER. I didn't think to add Epsom salts to the holes for the peppers.
It's always something.

I used Epsom Salts until I ran out, on the tomato plants, you should see the differents in the plants that had none, I was wondering today why they looked poor, I had forgotten.

It is a weird summer. One cool night out of the last 15 or so.I was wondering if it's too hot.

So far we have not gotten to enjoy the peppers and it has nothing to with weather. The DOG picks them right before we plan to! So far he has enjoyed 2 big bells and a handful of banana peppers. So... we have resorted to adding fencing around plants to keep him out.

There on the seacoast it would be surprising if you are having enough searing summer heat to bother peppers ...

I was just looking at my peppers in the greenhouse bed - skinny things and flowering isn't very apparent altho there are some.

It's hot in there! I get the exhaust fan on every sunny afternoon but I bet it's waaay hotter than the outdoor high, which is often in the nineties. They were transplanted in there to keep them warm at night because that must be what peppers don't like about this location and outdoors. However, I can't keep that greenhouse cool at all through the days.

I know that tomato lose blossoms during high temperatures but didn't really think about it with the peppers.

I am about 1/4 mile from the harbor which is part of buzzards' bay. It has been searing.
