Here it is after 8 in the morning, you can't see the sun at all, no glow of it... nothing but an earie orangey glow in the sky through the grey/ orangey brown sky. NO wind at all now, but grey ash is slowly drifting down like a very light snow. Crows, bluejays, sparrows and starlings are flying about without a sound. Not even the neighborhood dogs... just silence . The only sound is traffic noises as the cars drive by.

maybe that is why my peppers are producing so crazily. I woke up to a thin dusting of ash on my car, and Ash still falling. I'm convinced it will never rain again.

There are 75 wildfires in the West last time I checked, and the smoke cloud is enormous. I read a comment on the weather site from a person in Wisconsin who could smell the smoke.

We have been advised to stay indoors because of the unhealthy air quality. We don't have A/C and all the windows are open because of the heat, so I don't suppose it's going to make any difference to us if we're in or out.
I'm sure going to being doing a lot of washing when this is over.

I'm going to work today in spite of this. There are containers at least that will need water after the long weekend, but I don't plan anything too strenuous.

From noon news ... the reporters are now reporting that the fire has exploded to over 10,000 acres and growing. The fire marshall said that the smoke is so bad at the fire area that the helicopters can't fly in the area to fight the fire for fear of crashing into a mountain top. The smoke is getting much worse,and my breathing is becoming difficult. The issue is with the small smoke particles in the lungs but not so much from the ash fallout. Since I have diabetes my doctor said to come in as a precaution, so I whent to our emergency clinic and am now breathing oxygen. Also, since all of the reporters are saying to donate moey at every story and any chance whatsoever to do so... I will now follow suit and say please donate money to me to help with my medical bills. Ha, ha, ha !

Smoked out friends- Here's a simple, lung saving life hack that Dean learned about in super smoggy Beijing, where everybody does this to make their houses breathable. Get a high quality electrostatic furnace filter -about $20 at Jerry's- and simply tape it to the back side of a box fan. Make sure the air flow arrows are pointing the right way. Turn the fan on high and leave it running in a closed room. It will actually filter out the nasty PM2.5 (particulate matter) that makes your eyes, sinuses, threat and lungs so unhappy. So simple, but it really works!
**If your fan is old/tiny/weak/funky, beware of overheating the motor. Some have suggested cutting a hole in the center for extra airflow. My big, newer fans work fine though.**"

My DD in VAncouver WA is stopping by Lowes or HD tonite on the way home to get a filter for their floor fans. They do not have AC, and the rental townhouse has ash in it and its stuck to the screen door on their slider too.
