Actually he did see bees returning with pollen weeks ago when we had a warm day. No Idea where they gathered it! We could not see any trees doing the spring thing yet! But then saw some pussy willows in bud on my bus route.

...on second glance it was honeybees!
They were working the Snowdrop blooms by the step. I was pretty surprised to see them, but glad that they got to get out and forage before it got cold again...

I bet those bees aren't out there today, Thistle'!

If there are snow drops for me to see, maybe they will be blowing horizontal, about sundown. Probably, there are snow drops now but they melt (somehow) in our slightly above freezing temperatures!

Snow above 4,000 feet ... I'm in favor of that. The cherry trees are trying to open their blossoms in my neighborhood. It's the forsythia's fault. Those sunshine yellow blooms always attract grey rainclouds, jealously dumping water on them !

I resent the behavior of pnw clouds. Difficult for me to understand how we can get to 16 hours of sunlight in late June and like a light switch, suddenly have heat and months with no rain after all the trouble from spring clouds. Less than 20" of precipitation a year ... couldn't it be spread out a little better, with flowers for the honeybees in between gentle rain showers!? Seattle! Olympia! What are they doing about weather like what comes blowing through today!? Good thing this location puts me close to their coffee ... that and wool socks account for my survival, I'm sure ...

You may not have seen any snowdrops, but they were here in flurries. Dang snow. And rain.
I want to ride, I need to work, and I could have, and have done, both in the rain, I really prefer something drier, (and warmer would be a bonus).

I drove school bus for several years ~ I was a mechanic at the bus garage ~ the drivers got summers off ~ their hands were ~ tea cup clean ~ all they had to know was their route ~ so

Steve! Is today your birthday? I saw the subtle hint of the cards there with your coffee. If I am right, then Happy Birthday to you! For your special day, I enjoyed taking a walk on this sunny 76 degree day, in a conservation area (La Rue Pine Hills) to watch the annual snake migration. They block the road to vehicles, so we had to walk in. Also to check out the wildflower progress. Lots of bluebells, bloodroot, Dutchman's britches, trilliums, and lots of others I will need to get the book to identify.
However, it is going to be down in the 40's for the high on Sunday. So here we go again.

Spring sure is slow in coming here. We have already had more snow in April than we had in March, and now we are under a winter storm watch until Sunday! 5-8" of snow expected before the storm passes, with periods of ice... brrr. Silly me, I was under the impression that "April showers" were supposed to be rain, not snow.
