this picture shows the layout of most of that fenced garden area back in 2013.

it has changed a bit since i've combined several gardens and removed pathways. also expanded the strawberry patch.

every rock there was moved by hand/wheelbarrow/bucket. including all that crushed limestone. came from the front at the end of the driveway... many of the bigger rocks were collected from different areas around the country. and we always joke about how many times we move rocks here even after we think we have them where they're staying. :)

You have a very good website. I especially loved the section on worms. I've been interested in trying a worm bin, but for reasons unknown, I never got around to it.

Plus, now I know where you got your avatar.

We've been getting a lot of rain. The spot where my Minnie Shatterly were planted is a lake. I don't have a good feeling about them. At least I was smart enough to put my Pienky Jas in my raised bed.

if you can see them to rescue, if they're young enough, lift them with as much glop as you can and repot them?

ha! :)

thanks, i enjoyed writing it all, but i did learn as i went along on the conversion so the earliest sections need to be redone with better pictures.

the worm bins are getting closer to going out to the gardens. like many projects i've learned with that too as i went along. the funny coincidence thing again, the other day i learned that the store where i bought the belgian night crawlers 8yrs ago is run by the guy who did the brushhogging out back for me the other day.

hope you can rescue those beans!

More exciting news! I was rummaging through my bean stash the other day and ran across a bean that was sent to me a few years back. A lady named Sherry sent it to me. I took a page out of @aftermidnight 's book and put a few in a damp paper towel.

My wife was checking them tonight and we had one with a tiny sprout. I'm going to mud it in tomorrow!!!
