I had to go back to page one and get the picture of her at the slaughter kill pen. She was so skinny, look at that scrawny neck. She didn't know where she was going, but I did. hmmmm…...it was love at first sight.

Then I had to get a picture from a few days ago to compare the difference.

As of last Saturday, a week ago, Pearl is out of quarantine. She ran up and down the pipeline with her tail up like a flag. We let Joe, our 29 year old cremello QH out to meet her. They both ran up and down, having fun. Then we opened the gate to let Prince and Sparkles join the fun. They all spent the afternoon running, playing, huffing and puffing. I put Joe in the pen with Pearl to feed them both yesterday evening and will feed them together this morning. Joe needs a little extra and is a slow eater, so this will be good for them both. The rest of the time I will let them all run together.

Pearl was PISSED at me when I went to feed that evening. She did not like Joe in her pen and laid her ears back to let me know it. I kept them together for a few days so he knew that he is fed there now. Pearl is just going to have to deal with it. She will have to learn to share and play nice. ;)

After I fed Joe and Pearl this morning, I let them out. Then I opened the gate to the horse pasture and let Sparkles and Prince out.

Sparkles. Almost 33, fat and sassy.

Joe, love of my life, he’ll be 30 next month.

Prince is so full of himself. Mr Horsie Hottie went over to say Hello Gorgeous to Pearl. He is such a flirt.

Then he showed off all his horsie attributes.

Yay for Pearl off quarantine and joining the herd! :ya
Sparkles is a pretty girl, I don't think you've posted a picture of her before.
Joe is so dignified and handsome and Prince is adorable, love that attitude, haha!

Who's the herd boss?

Great shots Bay :).

Sparkles is the lead mare. Joe is always on the bottom. Horses come and go, but those two never change herd position. LOL Sparkles is a TWH, dark, dark bay, notice the gray at the base of her tail? She has scattered gray hairs on her face, my girl is getting old.

Joe. Joe has Cushings. He lost a lot of weight, I have been trying to put it back on him. The beet shreds are helping. My old man. He is always calm. In all our years together, he spooked one time. The joke is Joe has 2 speeds, slow and stop. LOL

Prince is a hoot. He has so much personality. He is the only horse I have ever had that, when I feed him, he would rather me love on him and talk to him, than to dive in to his feed.

Pearl. She has come so far. I see many rides in our future, I love that smooth Tennessee Walker gait. She still has weight to gain, but what a difference from that scrawny, starved picture of a doomed horse that spoke to me on that Facebook page. She isn't letting herself be too trusting just yet, but kindness will win.
