Today when I took one of the grand daughters to the feed store, they had lots of different kinds of chicks, so I decided to get some while the variety was good. (I hope)
2 Ameraucana
2 Welsummer
1 Black Majesty Maran (I know, not taking my own advice to Mary)
2 Black Sex-link
1 Prairie Bluebell Egger

I was kind of miffed that the guy was so fast grabbing chicks, that I didn't even see he had a yellow chick till we got them home and unboxed. I suppose it is one of the Ameraucanas.
The Welsummers look just like the Bluebell and one Ameraucana, so who knows what is what.

12 year old grand daughter is beside herself with joy. She's down there singing to them now. Penny hasn't seen them yet. :epThat will be fun, I'm sure.

Yeah, I'm still thinking about the duck in the garden thing.

My ducklings finally got it today...I've put them in the garden a few times on sunny days to let them have some fun in a little bowl of water and get accustomed to their eventual home. Usually they just pace the fence line, peeping and looking for either me or Ben to follow or call to. Very sweet but still very insecure little babies.

Today, however, something clicked and they went crazy foraging all over that garden! Little crops were getting some bulge by the time I moved them back to their brood pen and they were pretty worn out. Those little webbed feet had walked a thousand miles in that garden today! :D

Congratulations So Lucky! I have been thinking about it for when my rabbits are gone and my granddaughter is a little older. Her other grandmother has chickens, and well, I cannot be outdone! Lol. The oldest rabbit is now 8 and she is starting to show age, and 3 of them are 7. The other one is young and I have no idea how old, but I thought if I got down to 1 rabbit, it would be nice to have chicken friends because I am not going to get a second rabbit friend for end of life pal.

Are you done with rabbits then?
