Jen's old and new Dutch garden 2019

Oh you are doing a lot of work! Just keep chipping away. Soon it will be done. Why are you getting rid of the pond? It looks nice.

Working hard to get the insulation on the outer walls of the bedrooms, 1st bedroom is almost done. Yesterday we handed in the keys of the old house, went to a showroom and ordered new doors and door frames, unloaded the last stuff from the old house, went to a jobinterview and ended the day with a nice dinner in a restaurant. A bit too much for one day but glad we did it!

We are getting rid of the pond because we only got a small backyyard and the pond takes up roughly 1/6th of the garden space.

Finally got round to do somethin in the new garden this weekend! I've weeded the vegetable patch, planted 5 TPS plants from last year's tubers, sown some capuchin peas and planted a few potatoes. Also pulled out some heavy tiles and shovelled out almost 5 inch of sand to find soil. Discovered that the clay soil under it and also what is now lawn is hard as brick! Made 12 spots ready for planting pole beans with sunflowers as supports. This was hard work! Even trimmed back a small part of the hedge.

Spot the strawberries before weeding!

We got the bedrooms painted this weekend so thursday we start with the cork floor upstairs, hooray for a 4 day weekend! Today and tomorrow the sliding door in the livingroom goes in!

That's a lot of bean varieties! You must have a good labeling system to keep them all straight.

Sliding door in your living room? Sounds interesting!
