Sweet Corn!

The ears were kinda small but filled out okay. It was wonderfully sweet and tender!

My sweet corn might be the worse crop from the garden this year. After they did just fine in abysmal 2019, something wasn't right for them in 2020? I think it may be water. They are not in a very good location relative to the sprinklers and they are small plants.

Had a sliced tomato in my lunchtime sandwich. The plants are growing great! Couldn't ask for bigger/healthier but there still aren't many tomatoes on them. Even the eggplant looks great! Came home with 2 Shoya Long :). Things are trending to the positive side of the ledger with only a few exceptions.

Went to visit some friends and I traded some eggs and cucumbers for her tomatoes and chilis. There are two spindly tomato plants in the garden that are still producing some fruit, enough for fresh eating! Picked off bean beetles and harvested cucs tonnage with dinner. The bee swarm we caught decided to move to a different box that was in the garden so we moved it down to the ground, added more frames and gave them pollen party and sugar syrup. There were a lot of bees! I hope they do well.

We have just had a taste of the harvest high point - sweet corn, green beans, cucumbers, and ripe tomatoes 😋.

Of course, the beans have been going on for awhile. However, there are 3 sowings of bush beans. I had a good handful of Rattlesnake beans, yesterday. Those vines may continue to produce until frost. Although, I want some dry beans off them.

Many tomato varieties are a ways from harvest. Nearly all of the heirlooms are for sometime in the future. Patience. Patience.

The cukes are going great guns. There are no Lemon cucumbers this year but the 3 varieties are early enough and I'm hoping that there is no outrageous mildew problems. The Cucamelons are doing whatever they are doing.

I'm waiting for the other melons with AnTiCiPaTiOn!.

Thai Hot!

These are from a potted plant here at home. It hasn't been in the greenhouse for months but the backyard is a more protected environment than the open garden where no peppers of any variety has matured red. And, it is in a pot.

There will be plenty of Thai out there in the garden, always is. Seeds from this plant can be saved.
