If you collect them young I found them to be good for summer squash. They are not exactly the same but it's as close as I could get to grow and, I thought, pretty good. I grew them on a garden fence. They can grow on the ground but spread as bad as regular watermelon. Trellising helps, even then they try to take over. I let some mature to winter squash and did not like them at all.

I looked those squash up and must say they are very different looking lol. Are they tasty?
Different than zucchini, but tasty. 90% of the squash is seedless, so the slices freeze well. It has almost completely replaced zucchini in my garden (except for years where planting is delayed by weather) but the long vines need a lot of room, or a tall trellis. You can grow them either way, but you get much more if the vines are allowed to run, since the vines will root all along their length & branch heavily. I save my own seed, so if you ever want to try Tromboncino, just send me a PM.

THANK YOU Rebecca for putting your location with your avatar!! :love:love:love
and... :welcome from Central IL. Sorry about your horrible weather last week. We had it, too, but we've had worse, AND we have a tractor AND and snowblower AND constant heat from the boiler.
Any damages?
Hey nice to meet you. Had a pipe burst out in the solarium that flooded into my frontroom but not too badly thank God. Other than that I was good. I grew up in Michigan and lived 8 years in Iowa so cold dont scare me lol. I do hate the wind tho.
