It’s been dry the past few weeks. To the point of starting to get cracks in areas with sandy soil. Now we are headed back into a wet weather pattern. We got an inch and a half of rain yesterday.

We haven't had rain for about a month. We've had sun for the past week but a chilly wind, and even frost early on some mornings.

We have had glorious sun along with cold winds. Today was grey and dry according to the fairytale stories we are due rain in the morning. But as a local farmer had said I'll believe it when I see it.

nice rains at last, yesterday it sprinkled a few times during the morning and then we had to run out to do some errands so we didn't know how much rain our place got. when coming home we were joking about how often it has been that we get rain in our nearby small town, but it misses us here.

this morning it has been sprinkling and raining more so that is great, a rare gentle soaker instead of the downpours.

frost chance for tonight is the last in the forecast for this week. after this nothing lower than 40F and nothing higher than 70F. some more rains in a few days after the warmth so perhaps i won't have to do any more watering of the peas to get them to sprout.

i'm so glad for the rains as the gardens were getting kinda crusty and dusty on top and digging was getting harder for the project i'm trying to get done before full on planting season gets here.

We may have had an 80°f (27°C) day. Plenty warm but I'm not sure if it was quite that warm here at home. I was chasing sprinklers around the yard so that cools things.

It looks like overnight wasn't below 50°. Wow! Mid-month, we were having record lows. It all relates to how dry it has been.

Gotta get busy -- plants in the greenhouse will need their dips in the basin for water.
