Hi Everyone

I am Zoe, a fresh new member of the forum, and i became member just because of this topic. :D I found the LEBN by luck and amazed with the knowledge is shared. Also everything is about BEANS! that i loved so much.

I am in Australia, one of the hardest places to be, if you're bitten by bean bug and addicted to add varieties to your collection. So trying my chance whatever i can reach... And watching with amusent what people grows. As opposite season, we're tucked inside and chilling but always great to see beans are growing somewhere

Cheers

Welcome from Louisiana @ZoeV Glad you joined.

What beans do you grow? Since it is winter for you I'll show some that I grew last year. These are the immature beans before they had fully dried so the colors changed, but I though these were interesting.

Hmm i should check what i grew this year.. I have a little mountain of dried pods waiting for me to be shelled in these cold winter days :D

All my collection is whatever i got my hands on (i wish i could find more bean addicts in down under), usually starts with 2-3 seeds.. So everything goes soooooo slow. But not complaining though, quite happy what i did able to get so far.. But still drooling when i see amazing varieties people are growing over there. I like the colors of yours

Hi @ZoeV,

A great big welcome from Woodstock, Illinois in Mchenry county about 10 miles from the Wisconsin border. I'm all decked out in my cleanest dirty gardening clothes for you today. We really need some bean people from Australia. We had one here back in 2014 from Hobartville, N.S.W. but he doesn't get on here anymore. I had even traded beans with my Hobartville contact. He sent me beans from the Australian seed bank.

I think I know who you are. I think you are one of my Facebook friends, and I think you get on bean groups on Facebook too. So glad you are here.

Oh i don't know who is that person! It would be great to get in contact if he would like to so. So far i couldn't find many people around, and when i look what's people growing they usually stuck with the same things., like Blue Lake for beans, Kent or Butternut for pumpkin.... I am trying to tempt them out of their comfort zone and try new things. I found not many people are really into the diversity in here, and this is very critical as we're losing mant varieties, especially local ones being forgotten and the ones already managed to get here are either scarce and hard to find or they are being forgotten as well in sheds, or jars due to no one is growing them anymore.

I am glad to find here as i really like to know more. And i had a quick look the previous posts it seems it is going on great knowledge in here that i would be really appreciate. I am quite newbie and my jpurney recently started and would like to know more. Never get bored talking about beans
