Actually, this article says there are 200 beds, so who knows. There are over 500 job openings. According to this news article I doubt anybody would want to come to Idaho and live among a group of evil dangerous people like we are. It mentions the armed groups patrolling the streets when Black Lives Matter came to town. It talks about years ago Randy Weaver and of course we are anti-government too because we live here and oh the skin heads, we must all be part of that too. In their words "Northern Idaho has a long and deep streak of anti-government activism that has confounded attempts to battle a COVID-19 outbreak overwhelming hospitals in the deeply conservative region.":mad::mad: More than half the state say no to vaccines and it has nothing to do with Weaver or skin heads, We hear of nurses quitting and all the job openings, but that is not reported, only Idaho is basically a bunch of idiots. There are whisperings through families and friends of nurses quitting, people vaccine injured and a new story I heard of a 15-year-old just had a stroke after her vaccine. Rumors? True? No idea. I see other states have their problems too all overflowing with covid cases. Actually, Kootenai went from 111 to 89 now that military came and helped, so maybe they are smarter and can help people better than whoever is in control of the mess at Kootenai.

Then there are articles like this floating around from other states about nurses quitting, so I don't think it is only Idaho. Maybe ALL THE STATES ARE ANTI-GOVERNMENT and should stop pointing fingers at Idaho.

This is Minnesota so I wonder if they are ANTI-GOVERNMENT TOO??? Video starts at 17:13

we've had our share of anti-vaxers here too @Gardening with Rabbits. they've done everything they can to hamper the govenor's responses to this epidemic. they've killed thousands of people by now and the number keeps going higher.
I am not sure about other states, but Idaho's governor says to get vaccinated. My point about the article above was the newspaper stating this anti-government in Idaho like this is the only state causing all these problems and it is not true. Idaho is not skin head, anti-government people.

GWR, the author of that article was in Idaho, check the byline. We get the same type of things from politic pundits in Louisiana writing about Louisiana. Don't take it too personal. It's just somebody trying to sell column-inches. I saw one today talking about the South that way.

It makes me think of the kind of propaganda the Russians would put out to make us hate each other and try to undermine our democracy. When I see somebody trying to spread hate I try to ignore them. They are not honorable people.

True that. @Gardening with Rabbits : Printing that AP article seems like something of a hit from the local TV station.

A Very conservative state government with some exceptions with representatives from the home of U of I and from the Boise area.

Population-wise, Idaho is lucky to get national media attention, in normal times. It's the 39th state in population having displaced W Virginia with the 2020 census. Four US cities are bigger in terms of population than the state!

Below is my "representation" of population increase in Idaho since my mother was born here in 1919. By 2020, she was gone but the population had tripled in 100 years. She moved back with her family (& me ;)) in 1968. To give you an idea of population growth in some communities, they lived just outside of Post Falls which had right at 2000 people in '68. It has about 36,000 people, now! (600 people in 1920 ;))

Yes, I was just a few miles north of the Aryan Nation leader's home & "church" by the mid-1970's and knew nothing about what he was bringing to the state. Ruby Ridge is just a few miles from where my brother lived in Naples about that time. The "standoff" didn't occur until 10 years after he moved to his present home, near Sandpoint. He was commuting to work past the place until his retirement.

I moved to Idaho in 1988 and CDA had about 35,000 and I thought it was a huge town. and now it is over 50,000. Post Falls was about 12,000 I think or less. I had just moved from a town of 6000 in Kansas.

I looked him up. If not for this article, I would not think anything of him. He just seems like a nice caring human, but because of the vaccine thing, he attacks Idaho like a rabid dog. You are right, propaganda to turn us to hate each other. It was not enough with all the other divisions, but now health. I swear people will support locking other people up or putting covid patients to sleep to save the rest. Who will be next to be locked up for something or put to sleep? Oh, turn 70 and not fit for society anymore. Oh, born with a deformity and not allowed to take another breath. I am just overwhelmed with news.

It won't make anyone feel better about the entire situation.

In another state, with a vast outdoors, with way less than a million people - they have health care and hospital problems:

Nearly half of Alaska's population is in their largest city. They've got problems.

Notice what is said about another state with a surge in critical care needs. North Dakota. The folk who have taken on public responsibilities can't just pull the masks up to cover their eyes. And those running off their mouths to dissuade others from taking some.simple.steps to protect themselves, family and neighbors ... enough.
