Really it is a bad thing for wives when their husbands die and waiting for the SS to change. DS and I had it a little rough for awhile. He just turned 18 and got a drivers license 2 weeks before DH died. He got a job and was driving DH's old car that was falling apart. My brother helped, but like you said what happens to people barely hanging on and without my brother I would have been in big trouble. Take care. We are the same age and your strength and endurance amazes me and getting me to think I can do some house repairs. LOL I am not sure I could load sheep though. I used to be able to back up and hook on a trailer with somebody pointing left, right, no forward, no back, NO TOO FAR, go back, go forward, LOL
Yes you can do house repairs! You can do more than you think. Having livestock keeps me strong. Feed comes in 50 pound bags, so does dog food. LOL I’m sure I’ll get lots of practice on the trailer.

Got my truck back. Diesel leak and oil leak. The oil leak is where the filter goes on, they put a new O ring, but said it didn’t completely fix it, watch the oil gauge. To completely fix it means taking the oil cooler and turbo off, costing me money that I don’t have right now. I really appreciate them considering my situation. I know how to check oil! Don’t have the bill yet. Owners wife wasn’t there. I’ll go by tomorrow and pay them. They have always done us this way.

Heat blower capacitor was real weak, so blower was barely blowing. Bill was $116 So that is fixed now.

Took down round pen and put panels in the barn, ready to load in truck.

Going tomorrow, up above Dallas, to buy a registered Katahdin ewe. Not exactly the right timing, but she’s available and at a price I can’t pass up. 10 months old and ready to breed. I had inquired about a ewe or two from this ranch, delighted to have the opportunity for one. That will give me 3 registered ewes, 13 total. Yes I know. I’m an idiot, I can’t help myself. I love my sheep! I’d like to find a place where I could have at least 20 ewes or maybe more. They are like potato chips, can’t have just one.

I'm sad too read that you have lost your husband thank goodness you have your brother. :love that's good to know.

Both you a @baymule are great coping with all you have

It has really saddened me that ontop of her loss the system has held back in what is rightfully hers. The very least they could do is help her through but not even that. How cold these people are.
I guess SS has to make sure we are who we say we are and just takes time to get the money. Yes, my brother is a blessing. It has been 4 years since I lost my husband. Time marches on. I have 2 little granddaughters born since he has been gone and they are a blessing too. Picture is from today.

On my second cup of coffee, then I’ll get dressed and go get my new ewe! I invited neighbor Robert to go too. He’s had a kidney stone, on doctors orders, no lifting or much of anything until Friday. He’s going nuts and driving his wife even more nuts. LOL

Y’all have a great day!
