This may not be what you want to hear... but given that this is a rental, I would leave it as is. To do more than that is to either give the property owner something for free, or to risk incurring charges if they don't like what you've done. Take dated photos of the damage (and keep any responses from the land lord) to protect yourself from being charged for the damage if/when you move out. Until then, I would just apply aquarium sealant over the area (since that is easily removable).
My son suggested a silicone and got on to it right away, bless him he was upset. Also I now have lead test swabs. So I can see if there's lead exposure. If there is I am sending this too the manager that has blocked my bath renewal denying anyone suggested it would be replaced and demanding I name those that suggested it.

Update: Lead measurement

I've heard there has been a lot of forced redundancies and people being sacked, so I didn't give him the list of people that reassured me it would be replaced.

How sweet of your son to take care of it for you!
Bless him. We live miles apart but he's there on the phone making orders and arrangements. We now have to get the gun and I have to learn how to actually use it.

Where's @baymule I need her now 😆

I'm okay cooking but completely useless on this.

After getting the coop run cleaned out my friend helped me with my bath problem. :love

Thank goodness for the kind people that don't expect an awful lot, we still have kind souls in this selfish greedy world.

Great news on my bath.

I got an unexpected call the other day and it was a repairs guy sent from heaven. He took two days patching up my bath and we just couldn't stop talking. On his lunchtime break instead of going off or sitting in his van he choose too spend time chatting and wanted too know everything I had come too learn over the years ( not my spelling and grammar. @flowerbug :tongue, so don't start)

End result my bath us usable and safe from toxic metals. This is an absolute luxury :love

🙏
I'm praying this rental company will replace this roof. They promised via mail this would go ahead in April 22 but have not received any details as yet. I would have thought we would have heard this month :(

I've just written an email to the man responsible but he's ignoring every contact that our rent management has made too him and I'm not really expecting that he will reply to me.

I've desperately needed a wardrobe in my bedroom for all the years I have been here but i can't put anything decent against my wall or it turns too mold.

is there moisture running down the wall on the outside or inside? we have a long term intermittent leak that is very annoying for sure. we've been after it to try to fix it for almost 11yrs now. hard to get people to come back for small fixit jobs when they can make so much more $ on the big jobs. he's not replied to my note yet at all.

can you leave the wardrobe standing forwards from the wall far enough to allow enough air to circulate back there?

We have a very old roof and chimney the tiles have curled cracked and even slipped, they put the slipped tiles back into place but acknowledged in writing that it was a temporary fix and this roof would be replaced this month. BUT the lady who purchased the upstairs adjoining property last October has been charged for guttering replaced last August (it was dangeroues, metal and fell from the top of the wall and roof) . Due to the timing that should not be her bill to pay. She was expecting too be told when she had to pay towards this replacement roof which she was informed of before purchasing a d agreed

In answer too your question, Yes, I have too keep my useless old wardrobe away from the paneled wall and any drips or moisture that comes through the paneled wall also goes under my bedroom floor. When it rains heavily I can smell damp concrete and can't lay anything directly on my floor or it causes fungal mold. So a descent wardrobe is out of the question and my bed is on legs too prevent this

They have renewed the roofing of properties in this road that have been built 20 too thirty years after these homes and I have no idea why they are neglecting the repairs here.

Maybe they are not, I'm hoping it's just delayed 🤞

i hope so too. when you pay rent it's assumed the place should be in livable condition. does your regulatory council or area not have laws and such about things like this?

i did get a note back from the roofer than i'm on his list now. we'll see what that actually means...
