A quote from a friend in California.........

Governor Gruesome has figured out how to reduce pollution and vehicle congestion on our California roads. He passed a law that no gas engines can be sold after 2035, that at least 35% of all cars to be sold must be electric after 2025 BUT NOW SAYS THAT WE SHOULDN'T USE ANY ELECTRICITY BETWEEN 4 pm AND 9 pm! No AC, no appliances, and no EV charging. All electric car drivers will be having issues with this. Since it is voluntary compliance how many do you think will obey? I bet Pelosi, Gruesome, and our rulers will all have AC. :somad They don't have to drive either, they can take their private planes.

And my friends have bought a place in Texas. They are moving. It's called Voting with their feet. Or in this case, gasoline car and Diesel truck.

As an escapee from Calif, Gruesome is horrible. He's all gloating how this new decree will change history and that his kids will be so proud of him.

Yet....this heatwave will be gruesome too. Please EV drivers - stay home from work and don't charge your vehicles was the rally call yesterday.

I too am a cal. escapee !!! :weee After living through a captain moonbeam as well as gruesome as governors one has to stop the madness and pack up, sell out and leave the comm uneistic state to save our sanity. :old You see flowerbug... my family had to flee the Russian communist invaders to our land of birth as my family was wealthy land, and business owners , so that made us persona non grada so everything we owned was seized and we eather accepted the yoke or sent to siberia in cattle car trains. My father's brother as well as his family got that fate and while on that cattle car, he got sick, so he was thrown overboard to freeze to death or eaten by wolves. We escaped by hiding in forests and eating anything that we could find of kill in order to eat in the dead of winter, and all the time dodging the communist gun fire. Thanks, but NO THANKS to that way of life that these so called progressive governors as well as our current president are spoon feeding us !!!! :duc:sick

Actually, they were probably lucky to even be deported to Siberia. With Felix Dzerzhinsky in charge of the Cheka, and his deep belief that the only thing important in determining whether a person was "good" or "bad" was what class they were born into, the vast majority of wealthy landowners like your ancestors were simply rounded up and shot. Being sent to the gulags in Siberia wouldn't be much better, but nearly certain death does sort of beat certain death.

@bobm USA has went too long without hard times. Last few generations are a very pampered group. They want the government to guarantee them everything -free food, free education, free housing, etc. except nothing is free. My g’kids will be stuck with the bill that their parents/g’parents made.

Why do we always have to get political on gardening threads?

Mary
This thread started that way. And technically its because nobody recognizes that Cali is on the wrong side of the mountains to be supplied easily and so has to behave as an island like the UK or Hawaii. They can barely get economical oil from Alaska. Boatloads of oil come at the end of a 10000 mile shipping route. Its a 3d problem on a 2d page.
