But HOW did the inspector miss a center support beam?

That's what we are wondering now. Some of the joists aren't even real joists!!! And they way they are "sistering" is so wrong.
We have a fireplace we can't use seeing how the inspectors said it was only a few spots that new mortar needed to be yet when we had a regular chimney/fireplace inspection by a company who does nothing but fireplace/chimney work we were told "your fireplace isn't able to be used and it will cost you at least $6000 to bring it up to code"

What did the title company find when they did the search? All deeds must be clear before they transferred title to you.

Go back line by line in the inspection. They are licensed and have insurance. If you find an omission, you can take it up with them. They have errors and omissions insurance to help cover things like the ridge beam.

My FH had a coworker who is the supervisor for the construction division of the company who he works for look at the inspection report and he said houses that was built in 1960 wasn't required to have a support beam. He's waiting on the report from the company who we had look at the foundation on Monday.

Good Morning.

Boosterism has been a driving force in the development of communities from the word Go. The ties between what have been called developers and local government are strong. Inspection may be limited to recommendations. I have experienced that myself when our home was remodeled. About the only time the contractor showed up was when the inspector was there and his argument was brief and successful.

On a larger scale, citizens can usually take a backseat most anywhere to the powers that be and for a time, may be convinced that it is best and in the interest of boosting the economy.

Thinking about trying oatmeal pancakes this morning. With the customary two morning meals, why not try something new ?

Wow! They didn’t deem it important to put in their report? I’d be having words with several different types of people. One would be a lawyer.

Good morning y’all! It rained in the early morning hours, still cloudy, probably promising more rain. On my second cup of coffee. Day is dawning, sheep are up and on their feet, guess I’ll get dressed and get outside. My big outing today is going to get a haircut. I sure need it, it’s shaggy and overgrown like a weed patch.

Can ANYBODY find a current drought monitor?!?!?
I Know that we are experiencing a mild drought here, but I cannot find a current map--latest is from 2020.
ANYWAY, rain here, can't complain bc it's been dry.
Coffee with leftover seasoned fries reheated in the oven...where I left them.
