    New Truck

Reminds me of the story about why the Brits drink their beer warm... because Lucas also makes refrigerators (for those that don't know, Lucas builds ignition for most british vehicles...)

    Birthday Wishes for Britesea

Wow... didn't know I was so popular! Thanks for all the loving messages! My first birthday present was when my DH got up to let the ducks out of their coop instead of me doing it. So nice to be able to sleep in! We were planning on having a roast duck for dinner, but had forgotten that DS had...

    Kitchen nightmare on Halloween

At least your refrigerator will fit into your kitchen, albeit tightly. I had to place mine (which is tiny- only about 10 cubic feet total) around the corner in the utility room because our kitchen is smack dab in the middle of the house and has at least one door on every wall and the dinosaur...

    The Chicken Stalker

It's difficult for cats to give up their wild side, unlike dogs. I would keep a close eye on your new kitty, to make sure she doesn't continue stalking the chickens

    I dug up the horseradish

Our hardiness zone according to the Sunset Gardening book is 1- the coldest winters in the West, mostly because of our altitude (about 4500' above sea level). According to the USDA it's 7a. All I know is it gets cold, and the growing season is way too short for my taste.

Can someone help me cook a beet?

This summer, just when my beets were ready, my back blew out on me. I was confined to bed for a couple of weeks so I told my girlfriend to come out and help herself to whatever was ripe in the garden. She took a large number of beets and cooked them up for dinner with guests. One of the...

    I dug up the horseradish

@journey11 , The top freezes, but it comes back every year. I don't think landscape fabric would work for more than a few years before it degraded. The pot I have it in is a 5 gallon bucket with several small drainage holes. That sits on a dinner plate to keep a little bit of water so it...
