2 feet?! These are probably around 8" tall. I'll still cut them down for the winter. Thank you!

    Dusty Miller question

I have some dusty millers in a flower bed from last year. Last winter, I didn't do anything to them and they were still alive this past spring, but they were really rough looking. For this winter, do I need to cut them to the ground? Or how do I get them to freshen up?

Will on-sale bulbs be good next year?

The few bulbs I picked up said to be planted in March-April. So would those be considered summer bulbs? If I do let them grow and force them into dormancy, how do I store them?

Will on-sale bulbs be good next year?

One of the local stores, Menards, has all their bulbs for $1.00. (marked down from at least $4.00) So if I stock up this year, will they still be good to plant next year?

    Growing zinnias

I tried to grow zinnias from seeds, but my lack of watering them put a quick end to that! I ended up buying some though and they have proven to thrive fairly easily! I love your pictures- you must have a great camera!!

    Creative ideas wanted...

We have an old set of stairs in front of our house. The stairs aren't used and are about 4 feet or so from the road. I thought some sort of flowing flower would be kind of neat, cascading down the steps... but I don't know what kind of flower that would be. Any one have any ideas on what I...

    Cabbage?

I'm trying to figure out what I can freeze/can this year. (canning newbie... AHHH!) Is there anything I can do with cabbage or is that an eat-or-lose-it type of veggie?

    Just started flowers question

Yes, Red-Hen that does make sense. Since our little house doesn't have very good sun-access I may have to get a bulb like you suggested. I'm glad I planted hardy little plants so maybe they can pull through!
