Anyone using Growstuff to track planting and harvesting?

I'm hoping there will be smartphone apps for Growstuff eventually -- that's about the only way I am actually going to capture the data. But first the web app needs more features and the API has to get done. :) -Wendy

Anyone using Growstuff to track planting and harvesting?

Every year I say I'm going to get better about tracking what seeds I started, when I repotted them, where I planted them, and what I harvested. I usually start with a spreadsheet from the Better Hens and Gardens site and it goes well for a while... then I stop. I've tried a few of the things...

    Fall garden tasks

I think I've discovered the reason I never get much out of my Fall garden, despite the fact that we have a long growing season with a first frost in the middle of November. It's because I am buried under peaches and tomatoes in July, right at the time I apparently need to be starting seeds for...

Raspberries, greenbeans and Japanese beetle. :(

They attack my raspberries as well -- I never had them before I planted those! A quart cottage cheese or yogurt container of soapy water held under the leaves so you can knock the beetles into it works well. -Wendy

    Stargazer lily blooms

Unfortunately it's not in a very photogenic location, but this year the fragrant Stargazer lily will have FIVE blooms! image by wsmoak, on Flickr There were two last year and I thought that was exciting. :) The porch smells heavenly, especially in the evenings. -Wendy

    Clematis And Lightposts

Out here, if you call 811, the power and phone companies only mark their own lines. They will show you where the buried line is from their pole to your house, but once it hits the electric meter or the phone box on the outside of the house, you're on your own. We have lines running all over...

    Tomato Pictures 2014

Today's harvest... image by wsmoak, on Flickr Most of the Romas are skinned and cooking down for pizza sauce. I think I'm going to freeze a bunch of cherry tomatoes this summer, and see what I can find to do with them in the dead of winter. :D -Wendy

Pink flowering bush in Georgia -- native azalea?

Mountain Laurel is apparently related to blueberry ... the pictures of the flowers I found don't look the same as this. I'm definitely not digging it up, but I will try to root some cuttings. I wonder if we forced it to bloom by, um, aggressively pruning it. :D That or the stupid deer have...

Pink flowering bush in Georgia -- native azalea?

What do you think? Do I possibly have a native azalea? 140423_8201 by wsmoak, on Flickr 140423_8205 by wsmoak, on Flickr It's on the edge of a wooded area and doesn't get much sun. It was the victim of some clearing a couple of years ago, it used to be taller but got whacked off at about...

weed that snaps and shoots out its seed when touched? (in Georgia)

If you look back at the first post on page 1, there is a photo of the flowers -- they are white. I'm pretty sure it's bittercress, though it probably has multiple names. -Wendy

    Inside Starts, Yours & Mine

digitS', how do you deal with those when it's time to transplant? Aren't they all tangled up? I'm still carefully poking seeds into 6-pack cells, and am limited to eight flats under the lights, less when the tomatoes get repotted and take up more space. Do you repot those into cells before...
