Tied my tomatoes up this morning. Main stems are tied as high as I can go, just have the suckers to tie up as they grow. I have a few starting to turn. Can't wait to taste them.
Cut about 2 feet off of my marigolds. They had gotten taller than my tomatoes which are taller than my cattle panels...
Those look like what we call "ole timey" petunias. They reseed & come back more & more every year. I've seen them in colors of white, pinks & purples. So pretty!
LOL Bay!! We did the same thing with the sprinklers in the orchard. DH turned them on Wed night and they got turned off Thurs morning!!
My mule team tomatoes are starting to ripen. Can't wait to try one.
I bought a Delosperma Cooperi (ice plant) today at Walmart for 99 cents.
It's supposed to be a perennial and hardy in zones 5-9. I've got it in a pot & a hanging basket. It gets 3-6 inches tall and can spread up to 2 feet.
I have another sedum that I have had for years. I do nothing to it...
We have more white clover this year. But, I've been trying to keep DH from mowing it all down, lol. I've got a big patch out by my last garden bed. It is always just covered in bees.
July is cute! Which one is he/she out of?
Picked more green beans this morning. Probably not enough to run a full canner, so I put them in zip bags and stuck in the fridge. Also picked a few squash and cucumbers. Turned on the soaker hose to water the garden.
We also worked on the chicken coop as long as I could stand it (I have to be...
Hey Bay, have you tried using that heavy duty black plastic or maybe that black rubber stuff that is used at nursery's? You would probably have to put a water line of some kind in since not enough rain would get through.
I vote for a duck pond too!
We have a good sized pond. I'm not sure how big around it is, maybe 1/4 of an acre? I do know it's 20' deep out in the middle. We got ducks & geese one year. Raised them in a pen out by the barn. When they got big enough, we would take them out to the pond to swim...
Let's see, I put up 7 qts of green beans Saturday, and 5 qts today. Also put up 26 pints of bone broth today, 10 of turkey & 16 of chicken. Trying to get my freezer cleaned out.
Watermelon/pumpkin boxes come in handy. That is what I used for my first chick brooder. I got mine at Walmart. They thought I was nuts asking for one, LOL.
