Always done roots here for my asparagus bed. About the same time as you plant potatos plant the roots.
It will take about 3 years from seed is my guess.
Each year I plant more roots this year had a nice group at the same time to harvest.
Here side dress the beds with horse manure...

Well...... I have a friend with a large farm, he is Italian and loves tomatos, so 250 are Roma's. Those are feeding the deer, ground hogs and his goats is all I can figure.:P

Found here if the lack of rain is around then the animals (deer) will hit up my tomatos and vines for a quick quench of thirst.
