    For Bay Dandelion Queen

@baymule that is Meadowfoam (the picture) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limnanthes_alba I use the oil as the carrier in my dandelion butter & salve. I buy the meadowfoam oil but in the future I want to grow it, and coldpress the seeds for oil but that time will come... it's on my list :) I...

    For Bay Dandelion Queen

@baymule If I'm making it for gifts, I take each petal off. If I'm making it for home/family use, I just take the whole flower (off stem) and leave the green base in. It doesn't effect the quality but does look a tinged with green and then you cannot tell easily if it molds. It lasts very long...

    Your skin absorbs vitamin C?

Oh and I forgot to comment about your title... As far as I know, our skin (the biggest organ we have) is porous so it absorbs very well.

    Your skin absorbs vitamin C?

Violets are a great source of Vitamin C. You could eat them raw, make a tea, or even a poultice. Have you tried an elimination diet to see what you may be eating that is causing the reaction?

    How Would You Freeze Soup?

Congrats on the soup! It's such a great feeling to make something tasty and wholesome and then to have it waiting in the freezer for a hurried day! Looks like you have great answers for saving. I wanted to add that besides the batch, what I like to do is save some in an ice cube tray (then set...

    Hello from Pennsylvania!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! To answer some questions... I belong to a forum called HomesteadingToday and someone had this site in their signature. I say a tiny homestead because some get up in arms if you don't have acreage. :) What a homestead means to me is a home that is central...

    Hello from Pennsylvania!

A great big hello! I found this website from another forum I frequent & thought I would pop in! It looks like a great place so I joined :) I live in PA with my husband, daughter (8) and mother (zone 7). My husband and I are both learning and loving to garden. We are nuts about eating from our...
