I get the most excitement from my garden. The few things I plant that I think the rest of the family enjoys or is willing to try usually go uneaten. I will not plant grape tomatoes, over run with them. Swiss chard, will plant much less. No more beets. No bell peppers, I never get a good yield...
Not sure on the taste difference yet, until I hit a different row. I think they will be similar though.
Last year I got 20 lbs out of two small rows. This year if all goes well I'll get closer to the 50 lb mark or more.
This is my second year of growing potatoes. Last year I had a great crop for just two small rows. I expanded a bit this year. In need of a side starch for tonights dinner I dug a bit and was pleasantly rewarded with a sign of the harvest ahead. Kennebecs and Katahdins.
If this is for real, I wish I had the resources and the equipment because I'm only 20 minutes from here. I hope someone takes advantage.

I finally got going this past weekend. I planted swiss chard, carrots and onions. I also transplanted some herbs to the veggie garden. I should be throwing in some beets and lettuce next weekend.

Glad your son is ok Natalie. My son, also 6 has had a few bouts of croop although when he was much younger. It still required a trip to the ER though. Stay well.
It was a very nice day. I put up a short section of fence, put out some 3/4 in stone and stained two sides of the coop.
THE PEEPERS...
I made venison jerky this year out of ground venison, not salted, and I lived. Came out great as well. A very pleasant surprise and a good use of ground venison.

I've been in pea land for a few weeks now and loving it. My turnips are ready to come out of the ground now. Should be having some tonight with the chops my neighbor gave me from his pigs, YUM!
Green beans should be on my plate by the end of the week, oh yah, broccoli too.
