    Red mulch film

Once again the red mulch film has made a huge difference for me. My Sweet Millions didn't get planted in the plastic and are only 6 inches high at the most. All of my other tomatoes are HUGE and have tons of fruit! Maybe it's the answer for people who live in cooler climates/shorter growing...

Is anyone else growing Lemon cukes?

I love lemon cukes!! My husband didn't want me to plant them again this year tho because he said he could never tell when they were ripe! They are so good though - and I always bought those seeds at Wal-Mart.

    HI! New from Minnesota!

I like that area. It's close enough to the cities for convenience but far enough away not to be in hustle and bustle. I have family in New York Mills, Wadena, East Bethel, North Branch and Golden Valley/Mpls. I'm glad your family has joined gardening and you've joined TEG!

    Best/Favorite Cookbooks

This is by no means old, but I have really enjoyed Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld. I love the idea of putting veggies into everything. The chocolate chip cookies with garbanzo beans are super yummy! Especially if you use whole wheat flour. Otherwise, I would suggest Carla Emory...

    These are Pansies, right?

They are either pansies or violets. I think the difference is just that violets are smaller and perrenial.

    Can anyone identify these?

I like to steam them for a few minutes (4 - 6 minutes) til they are soft but not soggy and I add butter, salt and sometimes garlic. If you pick some that are really thick or seem a bit tough/woody you can use a potato peeler to take just the dark green layer off the stem. They arealso good on...

    Can anyone identify these?

I wish I had random acts of asparagus happening at my place! Those little ones sprouting up would not have lasted past my lunch - they look delicious! As long as they are not super thick or 'woody' I would say they are edible.

    Wisconsin

It has been very wet but I shouldn't complain - I know we don't have it quite as bad as much of the state does.

I like the sage advice idea. Don't waste thyme looking for sage advice - Go to TheEasyGarden.com When I come in from being in the garden my husband says (affectionately) that I smell like an earthworm. Makes me smile every time! Maybe someone could work with that. "I'm married to an earthworm"
