So whatcha doin' these days, in the garden?

Mulching mulching mulching. Gotta to the Last Mow soon, before the snow flies! The trees dropped their leaves in what seemed like one day! The oak leaf hydrangeas are beautifully red-purple, and the colors of some other bushes are spectacular too.

wow you all have been busy! I'm gonna do some pickled beets today! Edit: I DID do them...though by the picture, they look more like pickled onions with beet juice! I used Alton Brown's refrigerator beet recipe...hope they turn out okay.

    Please Post Sour Pickle Recipes?

The pickles I really liked were made from the Dill recipe in the book "Small Batch Preserving" - since I'm at work right now I don't have access to the recipe at the moment. I'm just guessing that probably the most sour of recipes are the many-day-pickle recipes, which I haven't tried yet. I'm...

    Suggestions for chutney use?

I'm a big fan of Jamie Oliver, and he had a spicey chutney (though I'm sure you could use any kind) that he put over a huge slab of bread, then covered the chutney with cheese and baked it. Sounds yummmmmy! I wanna make some chutney just to try this sweet and simple recipe.
