what watt light bulb did you use in lamp
I use 60 if I use 2 but it depends on the season and the size of the container. They don't give out much heat anymore. You can get a heat lamp from a pet store. But I have to send my husband to get them.. They sell them in snake stores and I get chills just sitting outside in the parking lot. I know you probably feel the same NYB.

I used to be able to get 75 and 125 watt red heat lamp bulbs at Ace Hardware but they improved things. Now i can only find 250 bulbs at Ace, Lowe's, Home Depot, Tractor supply, or anywhere else. So I ordered them online.

Baby chicks are tougher than you think. Yes they have heat, food, water, litter needs, but you are an experienced man with puppies, chicks are not a far stretch. Very good advice on giving them dirt from the coop so that they can build immunity to what is outside.

You got this.

A little nerves about straight run getting all roosters. I do need 1, my plan if more is to find out if any kids in the local 4h would like them, I would be happy to donate them
