i did go out and pick some beans today even if i was sticking to the top of the garden itself. now they are all spread out and drying in the sun and the breeze as much as they can before i have to bring them in tonight. in a half hour i'll go out and give them a stir to help them along a bit more.

such a nice day outside. :)

I am just loving this new bean, Siebenbürgen-Kärnten! It's looking pink right now, but I can see it's color shifting quickly to a salmon shade. The first pods I opened are already distinct from the latest ones I've shelled. I had a single seed left to grow this year after bombing with it last year! I had good luck and the plant grew well, though it was a bit crowded by a nearby sunchoke so I suspect it didn't produce as much as it could have. Needless to say, I have many more seeds to replant next year! It is later maturing, but with a better head start I'm sure it would finish here in better time.
