Runner beans are really running! I wonder where they'll go when they get to the top and it's only crossbars? Will they just fall on top? Weave through? I guess I'll find out! If they aren't happy with the trellis as is I might lay some wire mesh across the roof for next year. I hope this works though!! 🤞 🤞 🤞 View attachment 76773View attachment 76774

it is a JOY to look at vegetables winding up a vertical instead of bindweed!!!

Found some pods today! ❤️‍🔥

The season is 30 days late this year, so I'm celebrating every win. Most beans are still flowering and have only itty bitty beans. I'm just so happy to find some beans!!

I am so thrilled with the pink of network bean 'Pink Tenders'! 💗

Network 'Barry Island' is just covered in pods like this. What an outstanding variety. 😍

It is interesting to note that among all the pole beans that I have planted. I'm getting the best results from the direct seeded beans with the exception of once again the limas. The limas have really taken well to being prestarted in a container and then transplanted. Many of my Phasolus Vulgaris transplanted beans this year are stunted and don't look well at all. some of them have just simply died out.

Mom asked me if the bean plants can breath this hazy air. i guessed that it would be the lack of sunshine that will have more effect than the haze.
