I wonder the same thing myself. The app works through AI and apparently it will assess value based on a photo and info it asks you to plug in, it may even ask for your estimate of it's value. That still doesn't address the issue though of how you'd quote someone a price on parcel when your dependent on Zonos calculations, it would have to be a guess. Yes, the tariffs seem to apply in all cases, even family and friends parcels. The charges are on the part of the sender as far as I know.It sounds burdensome. But how can a tariff be assigned to a parcel that has no value assigned, or price charged, by the sender or recipient? Will tariffs be charged on gifts sent to family or friends across the border(s)?
I'm just hoping that by the time I'm ready to mail Bluejay his seeds the system is lifted. That's probably not likely, but I'm holding out hope.
