That sounds exactly like something my father would have done!

Same thing my grandmother would do. She was a artist, years after her death my mother was dusting a painting she did sun happen to be shinning on painting. My mother noticed where my grandmother signed her name another name was painted out. She would buy painting at starving artist sales and cover up name and paint her own. When my mother told me this I went home and checked a painting she gave me Yep same LOL. She also used white out and pen to change date on her birth certificate. God do I miss that crazy lady !!!!!
