Advice needed on container planting...

@Nyboy Its a smoke tree. I didn't get to trim it this winter so its kinda leggy on top. I'll take a pic when its in full bloom.

I have 5 seedlings of them growing in pots on the side yard. I hope to get $30 for each at the Memorial garage sale here in the neighborhood. They are about 4 ft tall now. That tree loves my front yard.

Be careful of Smoke tree. They can take over your property.

Get the red one! Or get one of both! I have a green variety that I don't like nearly as much as my red smoke tree (bush). Those flowers dry and stay on the tree for a long time. Smoking hot tree!

@Carol Dee, that was not a sign of addiction by Nyboy! It was the same calm, registered reaction I had the first time I saw a smoke tree in bloom. Reasonable and normal for a gardener to want one in their yard, especially after checking that they are within the proper growing zone.

@murphysranch what is the red tree in bacground it looks like it isflowering?

I have 7 that I coppice to keep as shrubs. I love the new foliage and not the blooms so much. Plant them where you can enjoy the sun shining through the leaves.
