@Alasgun It is a lot of work. This is probably the most we can realistically handle. My dad helps some but he’s starting to get older. Our biggest help is probably our next door neighbor and his wife they occasionally help out with garden if we are sick or if something happens. They also help dad with the canning in exchange for the some of the vegetables. This will be the third year we’ve had a garden this size or close to it.
I’m excited to watch your journey! Blessings!

It’s been busy around here again I got all the transplants potted up this week. All 250 or so. The main flock seems to have mites so I’ve been treating for that. The chicks are supposed to hatch Tuesday or Wednesday. I got started on the bean trellis today. We will see how it holds up lol. This is my first attempt at an A-frame trellis and I couldn’t drive the poles nearly as deep as I wanted too. The first strawberries are coming in here and I’ve had to cover them with chicken wire because something was munching on them. The muscadine cuttings I just stuck in the ground back in January are getting leaves to my surprise. Wednesday temps are supposed to drop into the 30s so I’m waiting to start planting until Friday. I’m hoping to get the pole beans, corn, cucumbers and sunflowers planted this week. Next week I’ll start putting out transplants if we don’t have another cold snap.

@Artichoke Lover Looks like you also have a beautiful little stream (3rd photo from bottom) to dip your toes into when you're done planting! Lovely!
I apologize for laughing. I wish it was that close to the garden (or maybe not since it floods) It’s probably 1/2 to a mile walk to the river from the house it’s definitely still nice though. I’ve already gone fishing this year and it’s almost warm enough to start kayaking! It’s one of my favorite parts of living where we do. Right up there with the garden! Believe it or not this is what it looked like back in March after we had some major rain storms. The water is about 10 feet deep where I was standing when I took the picture of the flowers
