Baymule’s 2019 Garden

Thanks. In Arkansas my garden usually looked really nice in late May. The cool weather crops were producing and the warm-weather stuff was all planted. Weeds and grass had been cleaned out. But it soon started going downhill. It did not take long before the weeds took off, never to be under control again that year. With a lot less gardening area and the ability to walk in between the beds so wet doesn't matter we'll see how long it lasts.

Thats my problem. Looks great at first, then boom! :barnieHere comes the weeds. :heTomatoes take off and fall over even tho I use ties, or weave them in and out thru the cattle panel. :huThe nice tidy spacious rows get overgrown with fast growing plants like zuccini, squash, greenbeans all fighting for the same space. :idunnoIts a vegetable free for all. :rainbowflower

Oh they mowed it down in short order. It has greatly improved, I haven't had such a heavy weed load since, but it sure has taken a lot of work. I still get some bodacious weeds, but nothing like that!

Out in the garden, English peas are coming up.

In the closet, under shop lights, the Painted Mountain corn is coming up. @thistlebloom the Idaho seed is in the front tray, the Texas seed is in the back tray. Thistlebloom and I exchanged seed, mine grows to 4’, hers grows to 7’. I will plant alternating rows and “help” cross pollination.
