That is so cool. I love saving anything about to be scrapped that can still be used, or re-purposed. You should see the collection of "trash" in my cellar that I keep, because I know as soon as I part with anything, a use for it will emerge and I'll be kicking myself for letting it go.
I can definitely relate to that 🤣

It's been a busy and hot week! I was going to go mow at my son's place on Saturday, but I got a call Friday that a dear friend's grandfather was dying. I've known her since she was 2 years old and her grandparents are long time members of the church I went to for many years in Livingston. I went to the hospital Saturday and visited the family. The funeral is today, visitation is at 9:00, service at 10:00. plus at least an hour drive time.

Sunday after church, I mowed at my son's place. It was after 3 PM when I got home, hot, tired, sweaty, hot, did I mention tired? I parked truck, left tractor on the trailer, took a shower, crawled in my recliner and passed out. Monday morning, up early and mowed patches of goat weed, bitterweed and Vasey's grass in the back field. I don't make neat strips of mowing, since I am targeting specific plants I don't want, I meander all over the place. Tuesday I hit the front field early, mowed awhile, came in and cleaned up. Took my sister in law to Lufkin, we had lunch, then to her doctor, then picked up grocery order and took her home. Got her in the house, took groceries in and got them put away, was after 5 when I got home.

Wednesday, yesterday, i didn't mow, it is still waiting on me. I went to Lufkin, filled up car, managed to burp the tank and gas spewed out on my blue jeans. So I had to run all my errands smelling like a gas pump. Had several stops to make, then home. I threw the blue jeans out the back door. Maybe this afternoon I'll toss them over the fence, squirt with Dawn and hose them down.

I need to set a bale of hay for the middle field, don't think I'll have time this morning. It's getting daylight, need to get outside!

Mowed the lawns. The hay pastures are so dry it would be like mowing dust.
Power washed a couple of out buildings and part of the driveway. Now that I have completed the driveway after dinner I still feel like my whole body is still buzzzzz….

Cleared and trimmed a few longer branches off the small tree that had grown to tall and limbed it down to allow sunshine to other plants around it. Trimmed out crossing branches to keep it sailworthy for winter storms. Used the blower to removed the pine needles everywhere again after a windy night.

I fell today and ruffed up my knee , hip and it a good thing I have such a hard head. No damage there. My dog came rushing over knew I was a lame duck . Right away she was in rescue mode and tried to crawl under my side under my arm and ribs to push me up. What a gallant effort for a little border collie. She encouraged me to crawl to a nearby large rock and push myself up. And boy now a few hours later I’m sore everywhere. So 2 Tylenol and off to a nap. 💤

I hope you heal up fast from the fall. What a good dog to be so concerned and to help you! Any time I hit the ground, my LGD's think I want to play and they jump all over me like a trampoline. I use Arnicare for pain and bruises. It's great stuff. I also keep the pills on hand for my dogs if they get bit by copperheads. The arnicare comes in a cream and a gel, I like the cream better. It helps bruises to fade away, the pain relief lasts 4 hours.

Went to the funeral yesterday, came home, changed clothes and did very little. Just too hot. This morning, I'll make a run to the feed store, I buy superbags of 1,000 pounds. Then I have to bail it out into metal trash cans, it's a sweat festival.
