I got the meat processed, vacuum sealed and in the freezer. Wednesday friends brought their female Anatolian that was in heat, to be bred to my male. Leaving her farm and going to a strange place upset her and she just kinda stopped things. She was SUPPOSED to go into ready to breed heat, but didn't. She didn't eat for several days, but finally started eating again. They left yesterday, going to leave her here for a couple of weeks to see if she decides to get with the program. I gave her lots of extra attention and put some Cowboy Stew over her kibble. Oh boy! She gobbled it right down. So the remainder in the pot is hers until I run out. I will take her to the male twice a day and hope she swoons over this handsome fellow, fingers crossed!

She is in my stock trailer and I walk her several times a day in addition to her non conjugal visits. Somehow it escaped me when I agreed to keep her for a couple of weeks that I was going to Corpus Christi Wednesday morning for a school program that my middle granddaughter is in that night, that was ok, I have a friend caring for the animals while I'm gone. I was thinking that I would just leave enough food for Ozel, the female so there was no chance of escape, when it dawned on me....... I am taking the stock trailer with me! I am picking up a horse Thursday morning. Duh. But it's ok, I'll take her with me and she can ride in the back seat, it's fixed up for Carson to ride in it. The seat stays folded up and a blanket down for Carson to lay on, so she will be comfortable there. I'll put her in the trailer overnight and put her in the back seat when I pick up the horse and for the ride home. Oh my crazy life. I've got something going on every day this week!

My friend and I tried for days to put the two dogs together for making puppies. They showed a little interest and we got excited!

Our excitement quickly faded away as they got utterly bored with each other and laid down, far apart.

Friends went home Sunday. They left Ozel here and will be back the first week of December. The hope is that she will come back into heat and consummate her love with Buford. Ridgetop and I came to the conclusion that moving her right before the peak of her cycle threw her out of heat and possibly she might resume her cycle. But yesterday the two lovebirds were even less interested in each other. So I have my serious doubts. And I am about to smash that even more.

I am going to Corpus Christi tomorrow morning to see a school program that my middle granddaughter is in tomorrow night. The next morning, Thursday, I am picking up a horse to bring home. And where is Ozel? IN THE TRAILER! I'll put her in the back seat, it is all set up for Carson, that is where he rides. Carson thinks the truck belongs to him, those tires aren't supposed to roll unless he is in the back seat. He will be heart broken when I leave and he is not in it. Sorry Carson. So if the trip to here from her home threw her out of heat, taking her to Corpus Christi and back ought to blast her heat cycle off like dropping a bomb on a paper cup of water. Gone. We are already planning for next time. Ridgetop will bring Ozel at the first sign of heat instead of blood tests every 2-3 days, checking hormone levels and bringing her right before the peak. Obviously that did not work. Next time she might look around, think, OH! I know this place and that nice lady that gives me Cowboy Stew over my kibble and that handsome hunk that is waiting on me!

Today, RUN! First, do morning chores, then put Ozel and Buford together for their 30 minutes of boredom. I'm going to the food drop in a small neighboring community to help pass out food from 9-11, then hoof it to Tyler to have lunch with a couple we were friends with in Lindale, then meet my customer that is buying lamb from me (meat), then a dr appointment at 3:15, then home. 2 hour drive. I'll probably get home after dark and will have to do chores with a headlight on. Tomorrow, go to Corpus Christi. Back on Thursday, hopefully before dark. Friday morning, take sister in law to her PT appointment. Friday afternoon, groom horse and get to know him. Saturday-collapse.
