@canesisters they root like any other pig. Because of the pigs rooting, we decided to build a dedicated pig pen and Pig Palace. No more tearing up the pasture. You really should build a pig pen. Take notes from mine and build it so you can feed and water from OUTside the pen. It is so much easier.

that or use them to till up a garden for you and then move them on to the next. however, i'm just not into animal keeping and can't imagine all the work that makes. i like in the middle of winter knowing i don't have to go outside and check on residents and feed them and make sure the water is ok and that they're not whelping and it's the middle of the night and it's raining/snowing/sleeting/tornadoes, etc.

i'm just too lazy for that now. gardens are my speed...

The hogs have a slaughter date of July 11 and we are taking a lamb too. We had a whole hog and half of the other one pre-sold. Today we sold the other half and the couple also wants 10 pounds of the lamb.

Not this time. But it is ok, still have pork from last fall. Plus we have chicken from Cornish Cross we raised this spring, lamb, and grass fed beef.
