In poultry, it’s always, Let the buyer beware”. Used car salesmen get a bad rep, but can’t hold a candle to “breeders”.

Because of the link @sumi posted to BYC I passed on buying Sun. White feathers is called leakage very hard to breed out according to BYC. The breeders birds had white feathers, he tried telling me they where no big deal. I just got a bad feeling and passed. I did order chicks from hatchery feather lover farms they have 2 different lines. I ordered 3 chicks from each line. Only problem they are sold straight run only. I did not want to deal with babies and heat lamps, breeders where older but at least I know they are pure bred.

Glad it helped, @Nyboy! You have to be careful with especially these more exotic and expensive birds.

I did not want to deal with heat lamps and chicks, then it dawned on me I have several I use them for new born puppies.

The heat lamp thing only lasts a few weeks - AND - it's the PERFECT opportunity to get them super tame so they'll be fun pets once grown.
