No cut flowers, no house plants. Cats turn them into confetti. We do have a lucky bamboo that I've managed to keep out of their reach.

If it's not outside I don't get to enjoy it.

I like to cut just a flower or two or three to put in an antique bottle. DH has a collection of them from years past, small pale colored bottles. Some early soda bottles, etc. DH brings in wild flowers (weeds) from walking Penny, that he puts in those bottles, too.
Also, for cottage type bouquets, I have some antique pitchers that are in subtle colors. They look great full of zinnias, dahlias and larkspur. I have a couple teapots that I like to use, too.

That's how I like to display cut flowers too. I have an old glass pitcher that was my dads moms. I never knew her as she passed away when my dad was 19, but I hear she was a humorous person and loved to garden. Anyway, I'm scared of breaking that pitcher and it doesn't really hold enough lemonade for use for guests, so I figure it's safer to hold a simple handful of blooms on the table for a few days.

I remember when touring Kykuit the Rockeffers house, they had a flower cutting room. No room was complete in less it had fresh flowers. In large homes you need to be wealthy just to supply daily flowers for the house.
